Stored in this browser
Mindful Web stores your selected websites, reading passages, topic filters and optional WhatsApp number in extension storage on this device. It also stores exercise choices, sound preferences, cooldowns and return counts.
Counts are grouped by selected website and shared across its subdomains. HTTP and HTTPS have separate counts. The recent count covers the past seven days and keeps up to 200 return times. Mindful Web stores the lifetime total separately. Mindful Web has no account, advertising, analytics or cloud sync.
Check-ins and sharing
Mindful Web does not save check-in ratings, notes or intentions in extension storage. Copy places a check-in on your system clipboard. Open WhatsApp passes your number and prepared message to WhatsApp; you decide whether to send it there. WhatsApp then handles that information under its own policies.
Mindful Web shows each exercise inside the selected page. Its interface is isolated from the page's styles, but the page can inspect the exercise and anything you type into it. Avoid entering sensitive information on a website you do not trust.
Permissions
When new website access is needed, your browser asks you to approve it after you save. Mindful Web uses this access to show the pause, stop page media while the pause is active and filter YouTube result tiles. It runs only on websites you select and approve. Mindful Web uses storage permission to save settings and exercise history. It does not request access to browser history, contacts or messages.
Removing data
To stop Mindful Web on a website, remove it from the list, save, then reload any open tabs for that site. Removing a website does not clear its exercise history. Use Clear exercise history in Settings to reset return counts, cooldowns, exercise choices and sound preferences. Delete your number or custom passages and save to remove them from Settings. Copies on your clipboard and messages sent through WhatsApp remain outside Mindful Web.
Hosting of these pages
GitHub Pages hosts these support and privacy pages. GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes. Read GitHub's hosting information for details.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Mindful Web requests browser permissions and handles data only to show its pause, apply topic filters, save settings and complete sharing actions requested by the user. Mindful Web does not sell user data or use it for advertising or credit decisions. The developer cannot access data processed locally by the extension.
